things I've found project: botanicals, seeds, and leaves
Things I’ve Found is an ongoing project I’m working on in my studio and an expansion of the Rockhound project I was working on for the past few years. I am constantly collecting and documenting things I’ve found in nature and recreating them in watercolor. Each year I create a calendar of my yearly collection, available to purchase.
sea creatures
I worked in a seafood restaurant for nearly 10 years and my time there informed a vast collection of sea creature illustrations. I still love painting underwater critters and this series is ongoing.
pet portraits
I offer pet portraits as a custom commission to my clients. It’s a joy to render these sweet souls. This series is ongoing and you can purchase your own in my shop!
birds
I love painting birds! These little creatures bring joy to all. This is an ongoing series - I’ll never tire of painting my avian friends!
ingredients & foods
I love illustrating food ingredients and I am continually adding to my collection of edible illustrations.
the rockhound project
I collect rocks around California and lovingly recreate them in watercolor. This is a personal project that I documented on Instagram.
The first and most important part of my watercolor practice is making a focused color palette. I use this kind of color study to match rocks but also to capture the palette of a specific place or moment.
