Are you new to watercolor? Do you want to establish a regular watercolor routine? If so, this class is for you. Over two sessions I will help you jumpstart your creativity and create a lasting watercolor practice.
We will have an in-depth discussion of materials and brainstorm the best way to set up your studio. I'll share my go-to exercises for when you're facing a "block", fear, or lack of focus in painting. The class will include hands-on painting studies as well as individualized attention and conversation with each participant. You will finish the second session with a set of completed paintings, a familiarity with your materials, and the motivation to continue creating.
In between sessions, you will be tasked with a small assignment tailored to your current needs and abilities. We will share our work in the second class and build upon your progress.
This workshop is also designed to foster community and help form relationships with other painters - you might find yourself with an accountability buddy to keep you focused and working in the studio long after the class is over! With that in mind, please make sure you are available for both sessions.
Class times: Saturday May 15 & Saturday May 22, 11am - 1:30pm Pacific Time
Materials needed: paint, watercolor paper, a paintbrush, and water. I'm intentionally leaving this list basic so we can discuss together the supplies you may want to add to your studio.
